One successful frame maker uses myrtle wood, an evergreen with a fine grain, to make unique frames. Others use regional hardwoods, selling them in markets where such woods are difficult to find. Clocks A clock typically isn’t made of wood, but many clock mechanisms are installed in wood cases or frames. Woodworkers can make a wide variety of clock cases, including grandfather, grandmother (slightly shorter than a grandfather clock), wall, regulator, shelf, mantel, ship, marine and schoolhouse. Some woodworkers simply add a quartz clock movement to a woodworking product such as a picture frame, a wall plaque or a wooden toy.

But it can also be a problem. How much do you charge your best friend for those decorative turnings that you make? What if your neighbor asks you to build and install a bath vanity like the one in your home? What if a friend of a friend wants a discount on your Shaker furniture? skills and many dollars on my equipment. And I use only the best materials I can find.
